Cover for the audiobook version of "The Princess and the Goblin" by George MacDonald published by Kalliope Audiobooks. This piece was very much about capturing the dreamlike elements of the story, and certain symbols that glittered in my mind's eye as I read the text, and working them together visually.
This is so beautiful! The sky is definitely my favorite part of this I wish there was a version of this with just the sky and the little castle as a wallpaper. I could stare this for a long time!
Okay, where do I start? The sky is beyond gorgeous. I like the billowing clouds and rocky mountain looming in the background. I've never read the book, but I get this sinister feeling from the string that the Princess is using from [the evil queen?]'s spinning wheel. Everything is just marvelous! My favorite part: the flaming rose. It's so realistic and beautiful. You did a wonderful job!

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
