I am a freelance illustrator who specializes in the genre's of children's illustration, fantasy illustration and science fiction illustration. All images are hand-painted digitally using a Wacom Intuos4 and Photoshop CS5.

My work is known for its magical color, glowing light sources, and whimsical yet believable feel. My greatest artistic influences are The Hildebrandts, Mary GrandPre' and Chris Van Allsburg.

Hi Laura,

Firstly I just wanted to say that your gallery is just amazing, they are beautiful, magical illustrations! I was wondering if you could give me some advice - I'm about to graduate from art school at the end of this year and I am really keen to get into the children's book illustration industry, but I have no idea where to start! I was wondering if you had any tips or advice for someone just starting out and trying to get their "foot in the door" in an illustration career? Thanks!! : )
